KBB.com Just Released their Take on the 2018 BMW i3
An expert from Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com recently took a thorough look at the 2018 BMW i3, observing that the sporty electric vehicle offers both distinctive styling and state-of-the-art technology that helps it stand out from its competitors.
A lithium-ion battery powers the electric motor in the i3, with the motor making 170 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque. The i3 offers an electric-only driving range of 114 miles, and can lay down to a 0-60 mph time of 7.2 seconds — which is plenty fast enough to leave a bunch of small cars in its emissions-free "dust." Torque is delivered immediately, so the vehicle delivered immediate acceleration.
The expert took care to note that there's no mechanical transmission, so the i3 gives off a slingshot-like acceleration due to the lack of gear changes. Power is delivered to the rear wheels, which the reviewer said gives the i3 better handling than most of its front-wheel-drive competition. In summation, the expert declared that the i3 is a fun car to drive, especially after you grow accustomed to the vehicle's power delivery and the regenerative braking system.
