BMW U.S. Sales Increase in March
Earlier this month, BMW Group U.S. released their sales results for the month of March 2017, and noted a gain of 3.3 percent over results from March 2016. BMW is off to a stellar start the year, with 71,682 vehicles sold — a 1.5 percent improvement over the 70,613 vehicles sold through the first three months during 2016.
Strong customer demand for BMW SUVs helped the segment register a 30.8 percent jump over last March, as evidenced by new vehicle sales results for the BMW X3, which increased 42.9 percent, and the BMW X5, which saw sales improve 35.4 percent. The BMW 7 Series also saw a noteworthy gain of 10 percent.
BMW Certified Pre-Owned vehicles gained 24.2 percent for the month, and total BMW Pre-Owned sales increased 34.3 percent. To date, total BMW Pre-Owned vehicle sales are up 34.3 percent as compared to the first three months of 2016.
In a press release, Bernhard Kuhnt, President and CEO, BMW of North America, commented, “With the arrival of Spring, thoughts naturally turn to new cars and March gave us a nice boost as our Sports Activity Vehicles, the X3 and X5 in particular, continue to drive the growing demand. Our new BMW 5 Series is just breaking into what is a difficult market for sedans but orders are solid and with two more variants on their way, we are optimistic for the months ahead.”
