BMW iPerformance Vehicles Highlight the 2017 New York International Auto Show
Recently, BMW showcased the company's latest innovations at the New York International Auto Show, including the full roster of iPerformance plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.
The BMW iPerformance vehicles feature innovative eDrive technology borrowed from BMW i (a BMW brand that places an emphasis on sustainability in the new vehicle technologies and concepts), employing it in core vehicles through the use of battery cells, electric motors and electronic control systems.
The iPerformance vehicles that BMW featured at the the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan were:
- The flagship BMW 740e xDrive iPerformancesedan, which offers electric, locally emissions-free mobility and all of the comfort features you demand from a BMW 7 Series vehicle.
- The BMW X5 xDrive40e I Performance Sport Activity Vehicle, the company's first plug-in hybrid, which pairs a lithium-ion battery-powered electric motor with a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder engine.
- The BMW 330e iPerformance, which partners an electric motor with the TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder engine to generate a combined 248 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.
- The BMW 530e iPerformance, the newest member of the iPerformance family, which made its global debut in Detroit and teams the eDrive electric concept with a 4-cylinder gas engine.
